Testimonials

It was fantastic, a once in a lifetime experience! As I waited at the top of the tower enjoying the view I felt a little nervous but OK, until the time came to go down. I lowered myself over the top (backwards!), my heart was racing. I extremely enjoyed the abseil, am very proud of myself for doing it and I would definitely recommend it to anyone - Matt

It was the best experience of my life. It was just amazing. I wasn't nervous at all - Kylie

Going over the top wasn't a problem as I didn't look down and tried not to think about the height too much. About halfway down I felt a bit exposed because all I could see was blue sky and rooftops a long way off. I would definitely do it again though - Ed

As an extremely nervous abseiler, the only way I was able to go over the edge was due to the calmness, patience, encouragement and professionalism of the abseil team. In retrospect they just made it seem like a stroll in the park - Sarah

I was expecting this event to just bring in adrenaline-junkies as it seems such an extreme challenge. What amazed me was that "normal" people were brave enough to do it! People from 14 years of age up to some in their 60's took part, first-timers and seasoned abseilers. The location is very impressive - we believe it to be the highest tower abseil in the world, the highest abseil in Europe, and the 3rd highest abseil in the world. It's such an achievement to do it, which makes it a very worthy sponsored event. The Tower management team were very accommodating, and the internal abseil offered as a Plan B for adverse weather also looks a great challenge, and a cross between caving and abseiling. The abseil instructors were excellent, very friendly, very encouraging, and of course with the safety of participants as their highest concern, whilst allowing them the freedom to go solo which was the choice of all but one participant, with whom an instructor went down. Our event was a great success, and one I'd highly recommend! - Julie, C2C Charitable Trust
